標章令易憶持，起念心故。引證據佛語，起信心故。生起使不雜亂，起定心故。開合、料簡、會異等，起慧心故。觀心即聞、即行，起精進心故。五心立，成五根，排五障，成五力，乃至入三脫門。略說七重，共意如此。

Indicating the chapters makes them easy to remember and maintain, thereby giving rise to mindfulness. Citing attestations relies on the Buddha's words, thereby giving rise to faith. Arising in sequence prevents disorder, thereby giving rise to concentration. Opening and combining, critical assessment, harmonizing divergences, and so forth, give rise to wisdom. Contemplation of mind puts into practice immediately upon hearing, thereby giving rise to vigor. When the five minds are established, they form the five roots, expel the five hindrances, and form the five powers, leading up to entering the three gates of liberation. The brief explanation of the seven folds has this shared intent.
