次約七法論開合者，謂四教、二乘、并人天乘，若上向合圓、別；不者，下向合人天，令七數足開合（云云）。

Next, discussing opening and merging in terms of seven dharmas: this refers to the four teachings, the two vehicles, together with the human and deva vehicles. Either upwards, one merges the perfect and the distinctive; or if not, downwards, one merges the human and deva, making the count of seven complete for opening and merging (and so forth).
