難頓教者，例此可解。實既是同，據何為頓？權雖別異，不應從事判大小，則大顛倒（云云）。

Challenging the sudden teaching can be understood by this analogy. Since the real is identical, on what basis is it called sudden? Although the provisional differs, one must not classify the great and small based on phenomenal events; that would be a great inversion (and so forth).
