10.32

五時之失，其過如是，其四時、三時，無勞更難，南方教相，不可復依也。今更難用三時義家云：十二年後訖至法華，同名無相教者，法華會三，般若亦應歸一。若不爾者，云何同是無相？四時亦例爾。

Such are the faults of the five periods; as for the four periods and three periods, there is no need to refute them further—the doctrinal classifications of the South can no longer be relied upon. Now I further challenge the proponents of the three periods, who say: from after the twelve years up to the Lotus, all are identically called the signless teaching; [if so,] then since the Lotus unifies the three, the Prajñā should also converge into the one. If it does not, how could they both identically be signless? The four periods are also analogous to this.
