10.47

若五時明教，得五味方便之文，而失一道真實之意。雖得其文，配對失旨，其文通用，其對宜休。

If one takes the teaching explained through the five periods, it captures the texts on the skillful means of the five flavors, yet loses the intention of the real Single Path. Although it captures their texts, its correspondences miss the central purport. Their texts may be applied in a general manner, but their specific correlations ought to be abandoned.
