Language
Classical Chinese

2.192

The terms 'five abodes' and 'two deaths' originate in the Śrīmālādevī, yet [that does not mean] the Nirvāṇa should not use their meaning. If one did not use the five abodes, one could not break through ignorance. If one did not use the two deaths, there would be no eternal abiding. Furthermore, the term 'three Buddhas' originates in the Laṅkāvatāra, yet other sūtras should not thereby lack the meaning of the three Buddhas. The various sūtras are all expounded by the Buddha; though their names differ, their meanings cannot be obstructed (etc.).
