Fifth, clarifying wisdom in correlation with the single truth: this is precisely wisdom as it truly is (yathābhūtajñāna). The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa says: 'When all waters enter the ocean, they share the same salty flavor. When all wisdoms enter the wisdom as it truly is, they lose their original names.' Therefore we know that the wisdom as it truly is comprehensively gathers all wisdoms and purely illuminates a single object; hence gathering all waters, they all become a single saltiness. If contrasted [with other wisdoms], the ten wisdoms are coarse, and the wisdom as it truly is is wondrous. If contrasted with the various real wisdoms, the various real wisdoms are called coarse, and the wisdom as it truly is of the middle way is called wondrous. If one opens the coarse to reveal the wondrous, not only are the various real wisdoms wondrous, but the ten wisdoms are also called wondrous (and so forth).
