云何為觀？於佛、法、僧生下小信。小信者，此法不久停，故言下小。此信緣佛生小信，是緣道諦。緣法生下小信，是緣滅諦。

What is the contemplation? Towards the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Saṅgha, generating inferior, slight faith. As for "slight faith," because this state does not stay long, it is called inferior and slight. This faith, taking the Buddha as object to generate slight faith, takes the truth of the path as object. Taking the Dharma as object to generate inferior, slight faith, it takes the truth of cessation as object.
