次、對四種十二因緣明智者，《大經》云：「十二因緣有四種觀：下智觀故，得聲聞菩提。中智觀故，得緣覺菩提。上智觀故，得菩薩菩提。上上智觀故，得佛菩提。」何者？十二因緣本是一境，緣解不同，開成四種。

Next, regarding the clarification of wisdom in contrast to the four kinds of twelvefold conditioned co-arising: the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra says, 'The twelvefold conditioned co-arising has four kinds of contemplation: through contemplation with inferior wisdom, one attains śrāvaka bodhi; through contemplation with intermediate wisdom, one attains pratyekabuddha bodhi; through contemplation with superior wisdom, one attains bodhisattva bodhi; through contemplation with supreme wisdom, one attains Buddha bodhi.' Why is this? The twelvefold conditioned co-arising is fundamentally a single object; because conditions and understandings differ, it opens into four kinds.
