4.19

次觀骨青時，見此大地東西南北悉皆青相；黃、白、鴿色，亦復如是。此是未到之相。又觀骨人眉間出光，光中見佛，是初背捨成相。如是次第，乃至八背捨發相，具如《禪門》（云云）。

Next, when contemplating the bones as blue, one sees this great earth to the east, west, south, and north as entirely blue; yellow, white, and dove-colour are also like this. This is the mark of the intermediate stage. Furthermore, contemplating that light issues from between the eyebrows of the skeleton, and seeing a Buddha within the light, this is the mark of accomplishing the first liberation. In this sequence, up to the manifestation of the eight liberations, it is fully detailed in the *Chanmen* (and so forth).
