The immeasurable four truths of the distinctive teaching are neither the former two nor the latter one, but properly take their name directly from the buddha-dharmas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges. Yet, in truth, they comprehensively take all four truths as objects, discussed in sequence, not without primary and incidental aspects. The initial mind takes all immeasurables as its object and gives rise to aspirations and vows. First, it properly uses the four truths of arising and perishing to suppress common views and thoughts, while incidentally cultivating the [other] three kinds. Next, it properly uses non-arising to destroy common views and thoughts, while incidentally cultivating the [other] two kinds. Next, it properly uses the immeasurable to destroy internal and external dust-and-sand. Next, it properly uses the uncreated to suppress ignorance. Next, it properly uses the uncreated to destroy ignorance.
