4.200

又，斷伏高下亦異；對諸法門行位，亦復殊別。所以然者，既明界內、界外，生、法兩身菩薩行位。如來方便，用四悉檀，化界內眾生，隨機利益，豈得定說？不廣尋經論，如無目諍日。

Moreover, the heights of severance and suppression also differ, and their correspondences to the practices and stages of the various dharma-gates are likewise distinct. The reason for this is that both the inner-realm and outer-realm bodhisattva practices and stages of the birth body and dharma body are clarified. When the Tathāgata, by skillful means, employs the four siddhāntas to transform sentient beings within the realms, benefiting them according to their capacities, how could there be a fixed formulation? Without extensively inquiring into the sūtras and treatises, one is like a sightless person arguing about the sun.
