行者內觀轉強，外資又著，圓解在懷，弘誓熏動，更加說法，如實演布。《安樂行》云：「但以大乘法答。設以方便隨宜，終令悟大。」《淨名》云：「說法淨，則智慧淨。」《毘曇》云：「說法解脫，聽法解脫。」說法開導，是前人得道全因緣，化功歸己十心則三倍轉明，是名第三品位。

The practitioner's internal contemplation becomes increasingly strong, external assistance is also evident, perfect understanding is kept in mind, and vast vows perfume and stir [their aspiration]. They further add the preaching of the Dharma, proclaiming and disseminating it in accordance with reality. The 'Peaceful Practices' [chapter] says: 'Respond only with the Mahāyāna Dharma. Even if using expedients to adapt to circumstances, ultimately cause them to awaken to the Great [Vehicle].' The *Vimalakīrtinirdeśa* says: 'When the preaching of the Dharma is pure, wisdom is pure.' The *Abhidharma* says: 'Preaching the Dharma brings liberation; listening to the Dharma brings liberation.' Preaching the Dharma to guide others is the complete cause and condition for the other person to attain the path; the merit of converting others returns to oneself, and the ten minds become threefold brighter. This is called the stage of the third grade.
