5.96

若圓教中，發始聞經即破無明、見佛性，是乳中殺人。六根清淨去，是酪生熟蘇等殺人。若初住去，是醍醐殺人。

In the perfect teaching, if upon initially hearing the sūtra one immediately destroys ignorance and sees the buddha-nature, this is killing in milk. Proceeding from the purification of the six sense faculties onward is killing in curdled milk, raw butter, clarified butter, and so forth. If proceeding from the first abode onward, it is killing in ghee.
