6.150

三、願眷屬者，先世結緣，雖未斷苦，願生內眷屬中、或怨家等，因之受道。若得道者，成法內眷屬；不得者成，法外眷屬。若佛滅度，此人無益，傳付後佛也。

Third, concerning volitional kin: having formed connections in past lives, although they have not yet severed suffering, they vow to be born among the internal kin, or as enemies and the like, and on that account receive the Way. If they attain the Way, they become internal kin of the Dharma; if they do not attain it, they become external kin of the Dharma. If the Buddha enters extinction, there is no benefit for these persons, and they are transmitted and entrusted to later buddhas.
