四番、緣覺利益者，若人宿善深利，在無佛世厭患生死，樂獨善寂，觀深因緣。文云：「曾供養佛，志求勝法，為說緣覺。」此人大福可發關宜，聖人赴對應之，使其華飛釧動，獲冥顯兩益，悟支佛道。此猶屬中草利益也。

Fourth turn, the benefit for pratyekabuddhas: If a person's past wholesome roots are deep and sharp, and in an age without a Buddha they are weary and afflicted by saṃsāra, delighting in solitary goodness and stillness, and contemplating deep dependent origination. The text says: "Having previously made offerings to the buddhas and earnestly seeking the superior Dharma, pratyekabuddha-hood was preached to them." When this person's great merit is capable of opening fitting suitability, the noble one responds to them, causing flowers to fly or bracelets to jingle, whereby they obtain the two benefits, hidden and manifest, and awaken to the path of a pratyekabuddha. This still belongs to the benefit of the medium herb.
