妙機召究竟妙應，妙機亦有生、熟；妙應亦有淺、深。如慈童女在於地獄，代人受罪即得生天，此乃妙機淺、熟，近在乎天耳。其餘例可知。

Subtle capacities summon consummate, subtle responses. Subtle capacities also have unripeness and ripeness; subtle responses also have shallowness and depth. For instance, when Maitrakanyaka was in hell, by taking on retribution on behalf of others he immediately attained rebirth in heaven; this was a shallow ripeness of subtle capacity, being close at hand merely in heaven. The others can be understood by following this example.
