7.77

經稱本行菩薩道時者，應是初住得真道時也。中間，應是諸地增道損生。今之寂場，應是妙覺。妙覺顯本，應指昔初住。此一途為允？

When the sūtra refers to 'when formerly practicing the bodhisattva path', this should be when the true Way was attained at the initial abode. The intermediate [periods] should be increasing the Way and reducing rebirth across the various grounds. The present site of tranquility should be wondrous awakening. When wondrous awakening reveals the original source, it should point to that initial abode of the past. Is this single line of thought correct?
