8.52

隨諸事釋，一一向心為觀，觀慧彌成，於事無乖，如火益薪，事理無失，即文字無文字，不捨文字而別作觀也。

Explaining according to various phenomena, in each case one turns toward the mind for contemplation; as the wisdom of contemplation is increasingly perfected, it does not conflict with phenomena, like fire adding to firewood, so that neither phenomenon nor principle is lost; this is characters being without characters, not abandoning characters to perform contemplation separately.
