Moreover, as for its difference: other teachings benefit beings in accordance with spiritual capacity, yet do not expound the Tathāgata's intent in deploying conversion. This sūtra clarifies the primordial beginning when the Buddha established the teachings, skillfully sowing for sentient beings the seeds of the sudden, the gradual, the indeterminate, and the manifest-and-secret; in the middle, by means of the five flavors of the sudden and gradual, he tamed and nurtured them to maturity; and furthermore, by means of the five flavors of the sudden and gradual, he delivered them. Simultaneously delivering, simultaneously maturing, and simultaneously sowing, round after round without cease, of tremendous might and fierce power, benefiting beings across the three periods of time—it is fully expounded as in the "Chapter on Faith and Understanding", and thus differs from other sūtras.
