Now, in clarifying the provisional and the real, the ten suchnesses are applied to the ten dharma realms, namely the six paths and the four kinds of noble ones. All being called dharma realms has three meanings: First, the ten numbers all depend on the dharma realm, and outside the dharma realm there are no further dharmas. The dependent and the locus of dependence are designated together, hence one says the ten dharma realms. Second, these ten kinds of dharmas have different limits; causes and effects are distinctly separated, and ordinary beings and noble ones are different, so one adds 'realm' to them. Third, these ten are all identical with the dharma realm, subsuming all dharmas. All dharmas converge into the hell realm; this convergence is unsurpassable. Being itself identical with principle, having nothing further upon which to depend, it is therefore named the dharma realm. Up to the buddha dharma realm, it is also likewise.
