Now this is further distinguished in terms of the Tripiṭaka. When this Buddha transforms people of the two vehicles, he mostly uses the real wisdom of transforming others. The two vehicles receive this reality of transforming others and cultivate it to accomplish the reality of self-practice; therefore the Buddha sealed Kāśyapa, saying, 'You and I both sit on the seat of liberation.' This is precisely the meaning. When transforming bodhisattvas, he mostly uses the provisional wisdom of transforming others. Receiving the provisional of transforming others, they study and accomplish the provisional of self-practice; the Buddha also sealed them, saying, 'I too am like you,' and so forth. These three kinds of two wisdoms, when viewed against the two wisdoms of embodying phenomena, are all provisional. Therefore Nāgārjuna refuted this, saying: 'How could there be cultivation of the path to bodhi in an impure mind? It is like a poisoned vessel, unfit for storing food; eating from it would kill a person.' This precisely refutes the intent of analyzing phenomena; hence they are all provisional, and so forth.
