10. The stage of the Buddha: the power of great merit assists wisdom—the wisdom corresponding to a single thought—contemplating the real truth completely, and residual propensities are also completely [severed]. It is like the fire at the end of a kalpa consuming wood until no charcoal or ash remains, or like an elephant crossing a river and reaching the bottom and the other shore. Although the names "bodhisattva" and "buddha" differ from those of the two vehicles, [all three] generally contemplate unproduced phenomena together, are equally beyond study, attain the two nirvāṇas, jointly return to ashes and extinction, and the place where they realize the fruit is one; hence it is called "shared."
