5.94

In the shared teaching, if ordinary persons and those in the provisional stages of the three vehicles hear the shared teaching and secretly see the buddha-nature, this is killing in milk. If those who have entered the stages proceed secretly, this is killing in curdled milk. If one proceeds within the bodhisattva's knowledge of the paths, this is killing in raw butter. If one proceeds within the ninth stage, this is killing in clarified butter. If one proceeds within the tenth stage, this is killing in ghee. For the śrāvakas of the shared teaching, there is only killing in secret; there is no explicit, indeterminate killing.
