As for skillfully cultivating the factors of the path: the thirty-seven factors are the bodhisattva's jewel torch dhāraṇī. Shattering inverted applications of mindfulness, diligently practicing the concentrated mind, the five wholesome roots are born, able to expel the five evils; concentration and wisdom are harmonized and balanced, and one proceeds securely along the path. Because it is free from the ten marks, it is called the emptiness samādhi. Not perceiving even the mark of emptiness, it is called the signless samādhi. Making no vows or pursuits, it is called the wishless samādhi. These are the practices of the path, approaching the gate of nirvāṇa. If one cultivates the antidotal gates of various dharmas—namely, permanent and impermanent, constant and non-constant, secure and insecure, conditioned and unconditioned, severed and unsevered, nirvāṇa and non-nirvāṇa, predominant and non-predominant—constantly delighting in contemplating these antidotal gates aids in opening the real mark.
