'Fortunate' is an expression of self-reflection. 'Jianye' is also called Jiankang, which the Jin and Song dynasties called Ye capital, the present Jiangning. Formerly called Yangzhou, after the Sui extinguished the Chen, the designation Yangzhou was moved north of the Jing River. Jiangling is Jingzhou. Therefore the next line says: 'Traveling back and forth between Jing and Yang, the route was nearly ten thousand li.' 'Nearly' is like 'approximately', meaning vaguely around ten thousand li. South of the Han is called Jing, from south of the Han to south of Mount Heng. South of the River is called Yang, from the Jing River down to the Southern Sea. 'Tiantai peak' and 'Crane Forest' are detailed in the first roll of the Zhiguan.
