「迹依於本」者，示迹不孤立，即垂迹之意本擬顯本，是故今云迹依於本，迹非究竟。

"The traces rely on the origin" indicates that the traces do not stand in isolation; the very intention of dropping the traces was originally intended to manifest the origin. Therefore it now says that the traces rely on the origin, and that the traces are not ultimate.
