次從「此妙法」去一序是譚玄本，序得下文意，此序不難。於中亦二：初序、次釋。初文者為三：初敘有經之由，次正明今經，三「所言」下釋題。初由本證，故能說之。迹中雖說，推功有在，故云「本地」。

The first passage has three parts: first narrating the reason for having the sūtra, next directly clarifying the present sūtra, and third, from "what is called" downward, explaining the title. First, due to the original realization, he was able to preach it. Although preached in the traces, attributing the achievement belongs elsewhere, hence it says "original ground."
