次約今經通別中為五：初釋名，次辨異，三出體，四引例，五簡示。初云「通者共義」者，七義共釋五章，各者五義不相雜亂。次辨異者，雖有通別同釋一經，故云「專在一部」，餘文可知。

Next, concerning the general and specific for the present sūtra, there are five parts: first explaining the name, second distinguishing the difference, third identifying the essence, fourth citing analogies, and fifth selecting and demonstrating. The first, saying "the general is the shared meaning," means that the seven meanings collectively explain the five chapters, while "the specific" means the five meanings are not mutually confused. Next, in distinguishing the difference: although there are general and specific, they identically explain the single sūtra, hence it says "exclusively in one work"; the rest of the text can be understood.
