次別約五味又二：初通舉不即說實之意，次「所以」下具歷五味明說不說之意。初文又二：初略明不說，次引文釋不說所以。初文者直牒前文，如云「唯我知是相，十方佛亦然」，而不怱怱即說者，何故？引文釋廣如〈方便品〉。

Next, specifically with respect to the five flavors, there are also two parts: first, generally raising the reason for not immediately expounding the real; next, from 'Therefore...' downward, fully going through the five flavors to clarify the reasons for expounding or not expounding. The first text also has two parts: first, briefly clarifying the non-expounding; next, citing text to explain the reason for not expounding. The first text directly takes up the preceding text, as in the statement: 'Only I know this characteristic, and so do the Buddhas of the ten directions'; yet why was it not expounded in haste right away? The citations explaining this are extensive, as in the 'Skillful Means' chapter.
