11.25

互有強弱。若論當位即是即按位為勝，若據聞教能超，即進入為勝，以在本位未知是妙，待入圓已方乃知妙，故成少劣；以進入功深，是故復勝。

"They have mutual strengths and weaknesses. If discussing identity in the stage itself, then according with the stage is superior; if based on being able to transcend upon hearing the teaching, then advancing into [the stage] is superior. Because in one's original stage one did not yet know it was subtle, and only upon entering the Perfect Teaching did one then know the subtlety, it becomes slightly inferior; but because the merit of advancing into [the stage] is profound, it is therefore also superior."
