Next, in the text clarifying the benefit of the main discourse, it is naturally divided into two parts: first, listing; next, explaining. In the explanation, "remote" mentioned at first refers to this being the trace gate, so Mahābhijñā-jñānābhibhū is provisionally taken as remote. Within this, there are also two parts: first, a general account; next, a specific explanation. The first text has four parts: first, briefly narrating the causes of benefit; next, from "good arises" downward, clarifying the characteristics of benefit; third, from "dying" downward, concluding and indicating; fourth, from "therefore the text" downward, citing scriptural proof. In the characteristics of benefit, there are two parts: first, marking; next, from "beginning with humans and gods" downward, explaining the characteristics. Good arising extends to shallow and deep; evil perishing also extends to the shallow. If according to the *Great Sūtra*, only at the stage of destroying fundamental ignorance is it called killing people; in reality, evil perishing, fully as in the present text, extends from beginning to end.
