三示相破古中，先示相，次破古。示相中云「一時」等者，從廣之狹。「時」謂五味之一，亦是一部一會，「說」謂一句一言，「念」謂一剎那頃，具如前文不定教相，此顯如來不共之力。

In the third [section], showing the characteristics and refuting the ancients: first, the characteristics are shown; next, the ancients are refuted. In showing the characteristics, where it says 'at one time' and so forth, it proceeds from the broad to the narrow. 'Time' refers to one of the five flavors, or to a single scripture and single assembly; 'preaching' refers to a single phrase or word; 'thought-moment' refers to the span of a single kṣaṇa. Fully detailed as in the earlier text on the characteristics of the indeterminate teaching, this manifests the unshared power of the Tathāgata.
