次問體者，此問準文及理為問，一切諸法皆是法界無非實相，則諸法皆體，何意簡權？答意者，若為實施權未識經體，開權顯實實如所問。「廢權顯實如前所用」者，謂約廢說則簡權取實，以為經體。何者？廢已無權，簡於為實施權之權，如前標體中簡於自行化他及化他體，故云「如前所用」。

Next, regarding the question on essence: this question is posed based on the text and on principle. All dharmas are the dharma realm, and none is not the real mark; then all dharmas are essence—for what reason is the provisional excluded? The intention of the answer is: if applying the provisional for the sake of the real, one does not yet recognize the essence of the sūtra; opening the provisional to reveal the real is indeed as asked. As for 'discarding the provisional to reveal the real is as previously applied', this means that speaking in terms of discarding, one excludes the provisional and takes the real to be the essence of the sūtra. How so? Having discarded it, there is no provisional; one excludes the provisional of applying the provisional for the sake of the real, as in the previous section marking the essence, which excluded one's own practice, transforming others, and the essence of transforming others; hence it says 'as previously applied'.
