20.12

漸次觀中二：初釋，次重別指。云「若的就」者，以此中文皆寄四教二乘菩薩辨觀故也。復更云「的」，即是借用別教行相，而初心知圓者是也。

Within the gradual contemplation there are two [parts]: first the explanation, next the separate and specific indication. The phrase 'If we specifically refer to...' is used because the text here relies entirely on the four teachings, the two vehicles, and bodhisattvas to discern contemplation. Further saying 'specifically' refers to borrowing the practices and characteristics of the Separate Teaching while the initial mind knows the perfect.
