20.18

次明說般若中二：初引經略立，次「大品」下釋經意。釋中四：初略釋經意，次「又云」下明部中共別，三「大品」下結成次第，四「復言」下結益。初如文。次文者，初是共；次「而言」下別，別即不共，此是不共般若，與二乘共說。又分二義，一以法界為華嚴，二以時長通至於後，二義俱通，是故兩存。大機則華嚴不休，小機則諸教次第，是故鈍根猶同小見。三四如文。

Next, clarifying the preaching of Prajñā has two [parts]: first citing the sūtra to briefly establish it; next, from 'The Large Sūtra' down, explaining the sūtra's intent. Within the explanation there are four: first briefly explaining the sūtra's intent; next, from 'It also says' down, clarifying the common and distinct within the division; third, from 'The Large Sūtra' down, concluding the sequence; fourth, from 'It also says' down, concluding the benefit. The first is as in the text. As for the next text: the first is common; next, from 'Yet saying' down, is distinct, distinct meaning uncommon: this is uncommon Prajñā, spoken together with the two vehicles. Furthermore, it divides into two meanings: first, taking the dharma realm as the Avataṃsaka; second, taking the length of time as pervading down to what follows. Both meanings are valid, and therefore both are retained. For the great capacities, the Avataṃsaka never ceases; for the small capacities, the various teachings are sequential; therefore, those of dull faculties still share the small views. The third and fourth are as in the text.
