Next, challenging the Single Voice also has two parts: first, stating the assertion and rebuking it generally; second, specific challenges. Within the specific part, there are six: first, refuting it with the Deer Park's bestowing the small four noble truths; second, refuting it with the two bodies of clothing and necklace in "Belief and Understanding"; third, from "If one says" onward, refuting it with the one being transformed turning into the transformer; fourth, from "If one says the Lotus" onward, refuting it by a concessionary challenge using the pure unity of the Lotus; fifth, refuting it by citing the Huayan as still being twofold; sixth, from "Therefore we know" onward, concluding the challenge. As for the statement "the Huayan's staying and returning among the five heavens", it speaks generally of the upper five, hence saying "five heavens". In reality there are only four, because Nirmāṇarati is excluded: namely, in Trāyastriṃśa the ten abodes are spoken, in Yāma the ten practices are spoken, in Tuṣita the ten dedications are spoken, and in Paranirmitavaśavartin the ten bhūmis are spoken.
