Next, in citing proof, where it says "the Great Sūtra says worldly truth," and so forth: it also broadly explains in terms of the worldly truth being identical with the ultimate truth, explaining that the worldly truth is suffering and arising, while the ultimate truth is the path and cessation. Wishing to cause sentient beings to see the path and cessation within suffering and arising, it merely says "identical." In reality, there are no two dharmas that are identical with each other; therefore, in the general conclusion of names, the four truths are merely the one reality, and the one reality is merely the three virtues and the four virtues. Therefore, although there are four names, the four are in reality devoid of four; when even one does not exist, how could there be four? Hence, it discusses sequence without [actual] sequence. If explaining the name and bringing out the essence, it also possesses the two meanings of proper role and transcending steps. The verified real principle of the four teachings, the realization of the knowledge of all aspects across the four teachings being identical, and the rotating of the master of teaching by teaching, are merely the teaching of the single voice, as can be known from before.
