Next, from "However, the Perfect Teaching" onward, he replies to the previous objection regarding the ten bhūmis in terms of the teachings. As for "the physical body of the other teachings" and so forth: since in the Separate Teaching there is no entering the ten bhūmis within a single lifetime, one cannot say that on the ten bhūmis there is still the fear of tigers and wolves; it is merely that in terms of contemplative understanding, the ten bhūmis are still harmed by the tigers and wolves of one grade of fundamental ignorance. In the doctrinal gate of the Shared Teaching, the ten bhūmis have no delusions, and hence there is no meaning of tigers and wolves in contemplative understanding; before the ninth bhūmi it can also be shared and applied; if one considers the Shared Teaching with the provisional discarded, the ten bhūmis are still harmed by the wolves of ignorance beyond the realms. Furthermore, raising a counter-objection, it says: "in principle it is pervasive" and so forth; this counter-objects that although the Shared and Separate have the meaning of contemplative understanding on the ten bhūmis, in terms of concrete actuality it does not hold; therefore, one should return to the initial Perfect Teaching to set forth the objection.
