前言照者或對或互通總而說，但云生滅智照生滅境，故脩觀者未可措心，故今一一明其行相。

What was previously called illuminating was spoken of comprehensively and generally, whether in juxtaposition or mutually, merely saying that arising-and-perishing wisdom illuminates arising-and-perishing objects; hence those cultivating contemplation could not yet apply their minds. Therefore, now its active characteristics are explained one by one.
