7.50

本承觀法，不承論所破勢，論意唯以四句觀法破大小執，令末代行者歸心有由，若部意所立功歸於此。若論破會者，未若《法華》，故權實本迹遣偏廢近，久遠聖旨於茲始存，故獲陀羅尼由三昧之力，師資之宗宛如符契。

It originally inherited the contemplation methods, but did not inherit the momentum of refutation of the treatise. The treatise's intent is solely to use the contemplation method of the four propositions to refute the attachments of the Greater and Lesser [Vehicles], causing practitioners of the final age to have a basis for turning their hearts; if one considers what is established by the intent of that work, its merit returns to this. If one speaks of refuting and converging, it is not yet equal to the *Lotus Sūtra*. Therefore, provisional and real, origin and traces dispense with one-sidedness and discard what is near; only here does the sacred intent of the distant past begin to endure. Thus, attaining dhāraṇī comes from the power of samādhi; the lineage between master and disciple matches like two halves of a tally.
