觀心者，中道正觀不漏落空、假二邊，二邊煩惱滅也，能觀心性名為上定，衣珠祕藏是己之物即己利也，正觀中道結賊則斷，無結故有亦斷，二邊不能縛心故名自在，雖有煩惱如無煩惱，不斷煩惱而入涅槃即其義也。

Regarding contemplation of mind: The correct contemplation of the Middle Way does not leak or fall into the two extremes of emptiness or provisionality; the afflictions of both extremes are extinguished. Being able to contemplate the nature of the mind is called supreme absorption. The jewel in the robe and the secret treasury are one's own possessions—this is one's own benefit. Correctly contemplating the Middle Way, the bandits that are fetters are severed; because there are no fetters, existence is also severed. The two extremes cannot bind the mind, so it is called 'attaining sovereignty.' Though there are afflictions, it is as if there are no afflictions; entering nirvāṇa without severing afflictions is precisely this meaning.
