1.29

又示教相者，此序非為人天清升作序，非為二乘小道作序，不為即空通三作序，不為獨菩薩法作序，乃為正直捨方便、但說無上佛道作序耳。此正不指世間為正，不指螢光析智為正，不指燈炬體法智為正，不指星月道種智為正，乃指日光一切種智為正。此流通非為楊葉木牛木馬而作流通，非流通半字，非流通共字，非流通別字，純是流通圓滿修多羅滿字法也。

Furthermore, demonstrating the characteristics of the teaching: this preface does not serve as a preface for the pure ascension of humans and devas, nor does it serve as a preface for the lesser path of the two vehicles, nor as a preface for the shared [teaching] of the three [vehicles] through immediate emptiness, nor as a preface for the exclusive bodhisattva teaching. It serves as a preface purely for directly discarding expedients and only speaking of the unsurpassed Buddha path. This 'correct' does not refer to worldly [virtue] as correct, nor does it refer to the glowworm-like analytical wisdom as correct, nor to the lamp-and-torch-like wisdom of the embodiment of dharmas as correct, nor to the star-and-moon-like wisdom of the paths as correct; it refers to the sunlight of all-knowledge-of-modes as correct. This transmission is not a transmission for willow leaves or wooden oxen and horses, nor is it a transmission of the half-letter [teaching], nor of the common-letter [teaching], nor of the distinct-letter [teaching]; it is purely the transmission of the full-letter dharma of the complete and perfect sūtra.
