1.57

本迹釋者，一佛為本，三佛為迹，中間示現數數唱生、數數唱滅，皆是迹也；唯本地四佛皆是本也。

Explaining in terms of origin and traces: one buddha is the origin, and three buddhas are traces. Manifesting in intermediate periods by repeatedly proclaiming birth and repeatedly proclaiming extinction are all traces; only the four buddhas of the fundamental ground are all the origin.
