列聲聞為二：先比丘、次比丘尼。比丘又二：先列多知識，次列少知識；舊呼為大名聞、小名聞。雖然無據，今依文判如此。就多知識眾為六：一類、二數、三位、四歎、五列名、六結。

Listing the śrāvakas has two parts: first the bhikṣus, next the bhikṣuṇīs. The bhikṣus also have two parts: first listing those who are widely known, next listing those who are little known; formerly they were called the greatly famous and the slightly famous. Although this lacks textual basis, we now determine it thus according to the text. Regarding the assembly of those widely known, there are six items: first, category; second, number; third, status; fourth, praise; fifth, listing of names; sixth, conclusion.
