1.83

觀心者，空觀為大，假觀為多，中觀為勝。又直就中觀心性廣博猶若虛空，故名大；雙遮二邊入寂滅海，故名勝；雙照二諦多所含容，一心一切心，故名多也。

Regarding the contemplation of mind: the contemplation of emptiness is “great,” the contemplation of the provisional is “many,” and the contemplation of the middle is “superior.” Furthermore, taking directly the contemplation of the middle: the nature of the mind is vast and broad like empty space, hence it is called “great”; it double-negates both extremes to enter the ocean of quiescence and cessation, hence it is called “superior”; and it double-illumines the two truths, containing and accommodating much, one mind being all minds, hence it is called “many.”
