以四法答請流通，流通之方，唯三唯四，「發救眾生」是入如來室；「入正定聚、佛所護念」是著如來衣；「植眾德本」是坐如來座。是弘宣之要，即四而三。「發救眾生」是誓願安樂行；「入正定聚」是意安樂行；「植眾德本」是口安樂行；「護念」是身安樂行，當知後四即前四也。一答酬其兩請，舉四冠罩一經，《法華》之重演，斯經之再宣，遠來之勸發，其義如此。

As for answering the request regarding transmission with the four dharmas, the methods of transmission are only three or only four: "giving rise to the mind to rescue sentient beings" is entering the Tathāgata's room; "entering the stage of definite correctness" and "being kept in mind and protected by buddhas" are wearing the Tathāgata's robe; "planting the roots of many virtues" is sitting on the Tathāgata's seat. These are the essentials of broad propagation: four are identical to three. "Giving rise to the mind to rescue sentient beings" is the practice of ease of the vow; "entering the stage of definite correctness" is the mental practice of ease; "planting the roots of many virtues" is the verbal practice of ease; "being kept in mind and protected" is the bodily practice of ease. One should know that the latter four are identical to the former four. A single answer resolves his two requests; citing four crowns and covers the entire sūtra. The re-exposition of the Lotus Sūtra, the re-proclamation of this scripture, and the encouragement to embark by one who came from afar—such is its meaning.
