10.40

偈十八行，為二：初九行，頌隨喜；次「若有勸」下，第二，九行，頌聽經。隨喜中三：前一行半，頌五十人；次「最後人」下，第二，五行半，頌格量本；次「最後」下，第三，二行，頌格量，略不頌福甚多。後九行，頌聽經，小不次第，為四：初五行，超頌勸聽經；次「若故詣」下，第二，二行，追頌自往；次「若於講法」下，第三，一行，頌分座；次「何況」下，第四，一行，頌修行（云云）。

The verse has eighteen lines, divided into two: the first nine lines praise joyful acceptance; next, the second nine lines, from 'If there is someone who exhorts' onward, praise listening to the sūtra. Within joyful acceptance there are three parts: the first one and a half lines praise the fifty persons; next, the second five and a half lines, from 'The final person' onward, praise the basis for evaluation; next, the third two lines, from 'The final' onward, praise the evaluation, omitting praise of the immense merit. The latter nine lines praise listening to the sūtra, slightly out of sequence, divided into four: the first five lines skip ahead to praise exhorting to listen to the sūtra; next, the second two lines, from 'If one intentionally visits' onward, praise retrospectively going oneself; next, the third one line, from 'If at the lecture on the Dharma' onward, praises sharing one's seat; next, the fourth one line, from 'How much more so' onward, praises practicing (and so forth).
