10.80

從「說是語時」下，是大眾歡喜。諸佛為化他事遂故喜，菩薩為自行得法故喜。又說人清淨故喜，佛是也；聞清淨法故喜，妙經是也；聞法獲證故喜，現在未來得益者是也。三事具足，故大歡喜（云云）。

From "When these words were spoken" downward is the rejoicing of the great assembly. The Buddhas rejoice because the task of converting others has been accomplished; the bodhisattvas rejoice because they have attained the Dharma for their own practice. Furthermore, they rejoice because the speaker is pure, namely the Buddha; they rejoice because they have heard the pure Dharma, namely the wondrous sūtra; they rejoice because they have attained realization by hearing the Dharma, namely those who obtain benefit in the present and future. Because these three matters are complete, they greatly rejoice (and so forth).
