「娑伽羅」，從居海受名，《華嚴》所稱，舊云因國得名。本住智度大海，迹處滄溟。
"Sāgara" takes his name from dwelling in the ocean, as spoken of in the *Avataṃsaka*; formerly it was said that he obtained his name from a country. Originally he abides in the great ocean of prajñāpāramitā, while his traces dwell in the vast sea.
